Organizational Description: Habitat for Humanity Manitoba (HFHM) provides low-income families the opportunity of home ownership through its unique business model of offering no down payment,no interest mortgages. Monthly mortgage payments received by Habitat are used to purchase more land which enables donations to keep on giving - building more homes, more hope and more thriving communities. By mobilizing volunteers and community partners, Habitat for Humanity Manitoba works with people from all walks of life to build safe, decent, affordable housing for purchase by low-income working families.

Description of Duties:

Are you passionate about affordable housing and community development? Do you enjoy meeting new people and sharing stories that inspire change? Habitat Manitoba is seeking enthusiastic and outgoing individuals to serve as Habitat Ambassadors-volunteers who represent our organization at community events, tradeshows, and public booths.


As a Habitat Ambassador, you'll be the friendly face representing Habitat Manitoba, engaging with the public, answering questions, and sharing our mission to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Represent Habitat Manitoba at community events, tradeshows, and outreach booths

  • Engage with attendees, answer questions, and share information about Habitat's mission, programs, and volunteer opportunities

  • Distribute promotional materials and encourage community involvement

  • Assist with event setup and takedown as needed

  • Provide feedback to Habitat staff on event experiences and community interactions

   
Skills Required:

Qualifications:



  • Friendly, approachable, and comfortable speaking with individuals and groups

  • Knowledge of Habitat Manitoba (training provided)

  • Passion for Habitat's mission and values

  • Reliable and punctual

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Previous volunteer or public engagement experience is an asset, but not required

   
Skills Gained/Related Careers:

Habitat Manitoba will provide all necessary training, including an overview of our mission, programs, and talking points to help you feel confident in your role. Ongoing support will be available from the Habitat Team.
