Organizational Description: WICM Inc. is an Indigenous-led non-profit organization that empowers inner-city youth through art, mentorship and land-based learning. Artists, Elders, and Knowledge Keepers guide our kids in exploring their identities, build skills and connect with community in meaningful ways.

Our transitional housing component offers a safe and sober living space for community members as they continue to heal and learn to live their best lives.

Description of Duties:

Help us help our children learn and thrive as they explore the wonder of their Indigenous culture; contribute to the success of our safe and sober living transitional housing complex; promote our amazing artists and musicians as they bring joy to our amazing community.


Are you passionate about 'paying it forward'; motivated to help inner-city kids live their best life, within a caring community of neighbours; are you are enthusiastic about being part of a collaborative team effort?

Skills Required:

Bring your strategic planning / legal expertise / financial and budget wizardry / construction and engineering knowledge / residential services and property management experience and organizational skills to a volunteer director position on the board for Winnipeg Inner City Missions (WICM).


Use your skills to influence the fiscal stability and efficient operation of this non-profit transitional housing apartment complex and our Indigenous Arts & Cultural Centre.


Indigenous speaking individuals would be greatly appreciated and welcomed. Meegwetch!

The Board meets 4 - 6 times a month in the evening for approx. 2 hours


Virtual meetings are conducted if necessary
