Description of Duties:

Grant Development Volunteers help strengthen our organization's ability to expand community programs by identifying and securing new funding opportunities.


Volunteers assist with researching grants and funding programs from foundations, governments, and community partners. They may help draft grant applications, prepare supporting materials, summarize program impact, and assist with tracking funding deadlines.


Working alongside the leadership team, volunteers will help translate the real-world impact of our work into compelling proposals that communicate the needs of the community and the outcomes of our programs.


This role provides a unique opportunity to gain experience in nonprofit funding strategy and program development while contributing to initiatives that support people experiencing housing instability and other challenges.

   
Skills Required:

  • Strong writing and research skills

  • Ability to synthesize information clearly and persuasively

  • Organization and attention to deadlines

  • Interest in public policy, nonprofit work, or fundraising

  • Ability to work independently on research and writing tasks

  • Familiarity with nonprofit or government funding programs is an asset but not required
