| Organizational Description: | At WELARC, we help newcomers access language classes. We can refer clients to English or French classes where they can work on improving your language skills for work, education, and life in Canada. We use the Canadian Language Benchmark Placement Assessment (CLBPA) and the Batterie de tests de classement des niveaux de compétence linguistiques canadiens (BTC-NCLC). Our Mission: WELARC is the first step towards newcomers unlocking their full potential. Our Vision: Conducting language assessments and making referrals to help empower newcomers to develop the skills to forge connections and bridge gaps so they can build their strongest future in their new home. |

| Description of Duties: | The Board is responsible for overall policy and direction of WELARC, and may delegate responsibility for the day to day operation to appropriate staff and/or committees. The members of the Board shall receive no compensation other than reimbursement of reasonable expenses incurred in the exercise of any office of the Corporation.
