Description of Duties:

Learn more by attending an info session at the museum on


June 7th and 22nd, 10:30 am to 12:00 pm.


Student Ambassadors will engage with visitors of all ages while in the museum's interactive zones.



  • Be welcoming to the visitors and engage with them in a friendly way

  • Be a team player in keeping our environment safe for the visitors and the artifacts on display in good condition


Science of Flight Zone



  • Show visitors how the Musketeer Trainer, the Mini Helicopter and Wind Tunnel exhibits operate

  • Ask the visitors to stay outside of the barriers and to handle the instruments with care


Pedal Planes on the Aviation Plaza (seasonal)



  • Set up and/or put the pedal planes away

  • Explain how the pedal and push planes work to families


Public Programming Events



  • Do theme-based activities with visitors such as games and crafts

  • Assist the Visitor Experience Team where needed

   
Skills Required:
















  • Good verbal communication skills in English




  • Willingness to develop leadership skills




  • Interest in science, aviation, or aerospace




  • Ability to do tasks independently

  • Must be reliable and punctual

  • Volunteers 18 years and older will need to provide satisfactory results of a criminal record check and vulnerable sector search

Time Commitment:
Daytime
Weekend

6 hour shifts are a 1/2 day on pedal planes (outdoors) and a 1/2 day in Science of Flight Zone, with a break in between.


3 Hour shifts are midday and float between pedal planes and Science of Flight Zone


On Tuesday, Fridays and special events day, student volunteers can sign up for half days doing crafts, games and activities with families.
