Organizational Description: The new Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada is a world-class facility filled with 29 aircraft, interactive experiences and inspirational storytelling. Our goal is to engage visitors with stories of Canada's aviation and aerospace heritage while providing an environment to inspire future generations of aviators and innovators.

Our volunteer program offers opportunities to share your talents, build relationships and continue learning. Experience in aviation is not required as we provide training to our volunteers.

Description of Duties:

Student Ambassadors engage with people of all ages while in the museum's interactive zones. It's about having fun experiences with our visitors so they will become more curious about aviation and aerospace.


You will be a team player in keeping our environment safe for the visitors and the artifacts on display in good condition.


Science of Flight Zone



  • Show visitors how the Musketeer Trainer, the Mini Helicopter and Wind Tunnel exhibits operate


Pedal Planes on the Aviation Plaza



  • Explain how the pedal planes work to families and ensure everyone is playing safe.


Public Programming Events



  • Do theme-based activities with visitors such as games and crafts about exploring space.


Mini Tours



  • If you are adventurous, you can learn about the exhibits and develop your own 20 minute tour.

   
Skills Required:

~ Good verbal communication skills in English


~ Willingness to develop leadership skills


~ Interest in science, aviation, or aerospace


~ Ability to do tasks independently


~ Must be reliable and punctual


~ Volunteers 18 years and older will need to provide satisfactory results of a criminal record check and vulnerable sector search

Self schedule - 3 hour shifts are offered 3 times daily.
