Description of Duties:

Friendly Visitor Volunteers are assigned to clients in our Older Adult Services and Mental Health Program who are seeking companionship. This role allows volunteers to relate with clients in a friendly way and establish meaningful connections. Friendly visitor volunteers can meet with clients in their home or plan to go on outings such as to a coffee shop. These outings will need to be predetermined and shared with JCFS staff and sanctioned by the client; however, any ideas are welcomed!

JCFS asks that volunteers commit to a 3 month schedule with volunteer shifts on a weekly or bi-weekly schedule. This allows for consistency with the volunteer and client.
