Description of Duties:

Boo at the Zoo is BACK!


BATZ runs from October 2nd until October 31st at Assiniboine Park Zoo
This re-imagined event is bigger, better, spookier, and more magical than ever before!

Boo at the Zoo is an evening event that takes place after-hours in the Zoo. It is designed for families and people of all ages and will feature special performances, activities, and jaw-dropping displays!
We rely on volunteers to help visitors enjoy an extraordinary experience at Boo at the Zoo.
General Volunteer Positions (suitable for everyone):




  • Visitor Services Concierge

  • Event Ambassadors

  • Access Control Ambassadors

  • Crafts Hosts Special Characters in Costume

   
Skills Required:

Volunteers must...



  • Be 18 years of age or older

  • Commit to at least two shifts throughout Boo at the Zoo

  • Be able to spend extended periods of time outdoors in all kinds of weather (all volunteer positions are outdoors)

  • Be able to move around easily outdoors either on foot or with the use of mobility aids

  • Be comfortable interacting with visitors of all ages

  • Have strong verbal communication skills

  • Follow directions from staff and lead volunteers

  • Participate in a get-to-know-you interview before acceptance as volunteer

  • Possess a clean Criminal Record Check (costs covered by Assiniboine Park Conservancy)

  • Complete an online training module

A minimum of two (2) approximately 5 hour shifts from October 5th to 31st from approximately 5:00 - 10:30pm depending on volunteer role.
