Organizational Description:	Things is a boutique selling consigned and donated furnishings and household items. We are a non-profit organization owned by the Volunteer Committee for the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, operated and dedicated to raising funds for the RWB.

Description of Duties:	Boutique Staff Greet and engage with customers Answer inquiries in person and on the phone Accurately handle cash and debit/credit transactions using a POS system Assist with general store functions Participate in start and end of day procedures Special Events Volunteer at our pop-up boutique at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet's main-stage productions at the Centennial Concert Hall. Committees Volunteer your skills on one of our committees: Finance Donations Consignment Performance Sales

Skills Required:	Boutique Reliable Experience in customer service is an asset Ability to work as part of a team and independently Strong communication skills Ability to follow established procedures and processes Positive attitude Committees Experience in specific areas such as bookkeeping and finance Enthusiastic volunteers who have a positive attitude and want to learn the ins and outs of our consignment and donation processes Special Events A positive attitude and desire to support the arts and assist with off-site location events No experience needed, this is a learning role We train on our simple sales system

Skills Gained/Related Careers:	Boutique Customer service skills Experience in a sales/retail environment Experience processing debit/credit sales transactions Special Events Customer service Ability to work in a fast-paced, lively event atmosphere Committees Bookkeeping/finance Knowledge of consignment process and develop an understanding of market value Team collaboration Understanding consignor and donor relations

Time Commitment:	Daytime , Evening , Weekend , Micro Volunteering X Micro Volunteering - any self contained volunteer opportunity that can be completed in a short amount of time, often through a web-enabled device. Boutique 10:15 am - 3:45 pm every Thursday 10:15 am - 3:45 pm every other Saturday Special Events - Seasonal Matinee, evening and weekends Committees Weekday and weekend - regular and flexible scheduling
