The CTV Champion of Mental Health Volunteer Award

The CTV Champion of Mental Health Volunteer Award is presented by CTV Winnipeg to an individual or group in Manitoba that has made a significant contribution in the following areas;

  • Reducing the stigma experiences by people with a mental illness
  • Provided support or services to people living with a mental illness, their families and/or caregivers
  • Advocacy for issues related to mental health (including individual needs, family needs, service delivery and systemic issues)
  • Advancing awareness in the area of mental illness/health research

Award recipients represent the outstanding commitment of individuals and organizations to challenge stigma around mental health and improve outcomes for wellbeing and suicide prevention.

CTV Winnipeg has been serving the province for almost 60 years and is home to Manitoba's #1 Newscast - CTV News at 6. CTV Morning Live with hosts Rahim Ladhani and Nicole Dubé offers news, weather and traffic every morning from 6 to 9 a.m. CTV Morning Live also includes popular features such as Community Connection, Commitment to Community and our own Rachel Lagacé, who is on location live EVERY weekday morning focusing on community events of interest to our viewers.

We are proud to serve our community with comprehensive news reporting on CTV Morning Live, CTV News at Noon, CTV News at 5, CTV News at 6, CTV at 11:30 and weekends at 6 pm, reporting on the news that matters to Winnipeggers and Manitobans.

Eligibility Criteria

This award is open to all Manitobans. Nominees must have performed such a service on a volunteer basis only and not for compensation.

How to Submit a Nomination

  1. Complete the online nomination form (see below)
  2. Attach to the online form any supporting information you wish the jury to review. This could include: supporting letters (no more than 2), newsletter clippings (please submit only information pertaining to the nominee, and not a full newsletter), media coverage, or photos.
    Please note, you can only upload one attachment so please combine your information into one document. If you are not able to do so, please email additional information to awards@volunteermanitoba.ca and include the nominee's name and the award category in the subject line.

Judging

An independent panel of judges reviews all nominations and will select the award recipient(s). If selected as a recipient, nominees will be notified in early March.
