Writing Persuasive Proposals

February 05, 2019
09:00 AM to 04:00 PM

It is a challenging time to raise funds for non-profits, charities and community organizations. With increased competition from new organizations, and government cutbacks at every level, more demand is being placed on foundations, corporations and other types of funders. With this increase in demand, funders are really looking at the persuasiveness of a proposal before agreeing to fund the project or organization.

This full day workshop explores the art of persuasion in your writing to win the confidence of your reader and persuade a funder to green-light your project. Especially important for our volunteers and staff tasked with securing future funding through proposal writing!

Learning Objectives:

Describe the components of a great proposal and the importance of relationships

Explain the proposal writing process

Identify the steps to research, prepare and write a proposal

Apply your new knowledge to draft a funding action plan, budget and proposal logic model

Describe best practices for a successful proposal

Testimonials

"I have attended the proposal writing and social media sessions. Both were very informative and I would recommend them to anyone. Facilitators were excellent and knowledgeable and I really liked how small the class was; felt comfortable sharing and participating. I look forward to attending more sessions next year!"
