Introduction to Volunteer Management

March 12, 2019 09:00 AM to March 14, 2019 04:00 PM

Having skilled, motivated and happy volunteers working for you is a sign of the overall health and strength of your organization. It is vital that non-profits and organizations who engage volunteers stay current on the latest strategies for the communication and involvement of volunteers. However, knowing how to attract those highly-skilled volunteers, and keeping them engaged with your organization, is not an easy task.

This three-day workshop will provide staff and volunteers with an opportunity to examine and practice the organizational and human resource skills necessary to meet today's challenges of a changing volunteer environment. You will learn a range of strategies and also gain new perspectives in volunteer recruitment, engagement and management.

Participants will have an opportunity to network with other managers of volunteer programs and become familiar with current resources.

Topics Covered:

- Trends & Planning;

- Policies and Procedures;

- Job Design & Risk Management;

- Orientation and Training;

- Retention & Recognition
