Organizational Description: Winnipeg Story Slam is not-for-profit and run by volunteers who love storytelling and hearing the tales told live. It is where people of all ages and backgrounds share in the human experience and walk away knowing that we are all more alike than different.
Our mandate is to provide a welcoming environment for anyone to share their true story in a supportive, live atmosphere, and celebrate the art of oral storytelling.

Description of Duties:

We're looking for enthusiastic (aged 18+) volunteers to help run the biggest storytelling night of the year - the first-ever Grand Slam, happening Wednesday, November 19 at the Royal Albert Arms.


Here's what our volunteers help with:
Checking tickets at the door - welcoming guests and helping with entry.
Scorekeeping & timekeeping - keeping track of scores and helping the event flow.
Poster setup & signage - setting up the space and keeping our event visible and organized.
⚖️ Judging (limited spots) - helping evaluate the storytellers with fairness and care.
Storyteller support - checking in with our storytellers to make sure they have what they need before going on stage.
