WRHA Volunteer Services coordinates volunteer placements in Community Health and Corporate programs as well as the Breast Health Centre and Pan Am Clinic.
Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: To provide support to staff and participants of the Healthy Baby Community Support Program. The program offers pregnant and new moms and their families an opportunity to learn about nutrition, child development and general health and wellness. The volunteer helps with set up (chairs and mats), welcomes families and assists with the registration process, assists staff with the activities including food prep and clean up and socializes with parents.
Skills Required: 1) Previous experience or confidence in working with infants.
2) Physically able to perform tasks
3) Must be able to prepare simple recipes/snack with minimum supervision
4) Ability to approach clients in a friendly supportive manner
5) Must have patience and compassion

Age: 18-30, 31-54, 55+
Time Commitment: Daytime
A weekly commitment of 3 hours per week for a minimum of 3 to 6 months is required. Shifts are as follows: Seven Oaks area (1588 Main Street) is Thursday mornings from 9:30 am to 12:30pm River East area (1011 Munroe Ave) is Thursday afternoons from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. One volunteer is needed at each site listed above.
