Description of Duties:

Summary: Market Assistant helps the Market Staff with shopping, loading and unloading van, setting up and taking down markets, taking orders, and handling payments.


























Duties and Responsibilities:






  • To take directions from the Community Action and Engagement Programmer






  • Keep workspace clean, sanitize surfaces according to safe food handling guidelines






  • Shop for Fruits and Veggies

  • Load/Unload Vehicle

  • Set up and Take down Market and price the produce

  • Handling POS machine cash/debit/credit payment

  • Accommodate and support fellow volunteers with mental and physical disabilities






   
Skills Required:



















  • Positive attitude and willing to work in a team environment




  • Respectful, nonjudgmental, positive attitude




  • Experience in food preparation or knowledge of Safe Food Handling is an asset




  • Good verbal communication skills necessary
