Community Resource Navigator

• Provide a warm and welcoming environment for each individual coming into site


• Help to identify the needs of residents and connect them to appropriate services


• Be familiar with NorWest Co-op programs and services, respond to questions and provide basic information


• Use the NorWest Co-op website and related service providers to give up-to date resources and programs offered


• Work alongside staff to meet community needs and problem solve


• Help with basic technological support (faxing, printing, etc.)


• Assist with program promotion, community surveys and information gathering

• Follow and respect NorWest policies, procedures and safety protocol


• Interact with community members using an empathic, non-judgmental, and trauma informed approach


• Knowledge of community resources and community development principles & practice


• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.


• Knowledge and experience with diverse cultures and economic background


• Complete on-site training, volunteer orientation, and sign confidentiality agreement (PHIA), as well as completing any other readings, training, and/or forms required


• Basic computer literacy.

This volunteer position will give you knowledge in a few different career paths such as Customer Service, Social Work, and Reception.

3-4 hours a day, 1-3 days a week, mid day.
