Description of Duties: |
Meetup Event Planning & Management: Take the lead in organizing and hosting a variety of social events through our Meetup platform. This includes managing event logistics, coordinating activities, and ensuring each event aligns with our mission to create engaging social opportunities. Events may range from casual gatherings like pizza parties and park hangouts to more structured activities such as bowling nights, sports events, or camping trips.
Community Engagement & Participation: Play a crucial role in fostering a vibrant and inclusive community atmosphere at each event. Engage with attendees to create a welcoming environment, encourage participation, and promote the values of the Access to Therapy Initiative. Your goal is to build a strong community presence that attracts diverse groups and fosters a sense of belonging among all participants.
Kiosk Management and Volunteer Fairs Participation: Represent the Access to Therapy Initiative at various volunteer fairs and events. Set up and manage informational kiosks to raise awareness about our mission, recruit volunteers, and encourage donations. Your presence at these events should embody the spirit and values of our organization.
Team Collaboration & Communication: Actively participate in team discussions and WhatsApp group chats. Work collaboratively with the Manitoba COO and other team members to ensure all activities and events are well-integrated with our broader organizational goals and strategies.
Feedback and Continuous Improvement: Collect feedback from event participants and team members to continually refine and improve our event offerings. Use this feedback to make adjustments that enhance the experience and effectiveness of future gatherings.
Promotion & Outreach: Utilize various marketing and communication channels, including social media, our website, and local media outlets, to promote upcoming events. Develop creative strategies to increase event visibility, attendance, and community engagement.

Skills Required: |
Event Planning and Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to organize, coordinate, and manage events of various sizes and types. Experience in planning social gatherings or community events is highly desirable.
Community Engagement: Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to engage and connect with diverse groups of people. Must be approachable, empathetic, and able to create a welcoming and inclusive environment at events.

Time Commitment: |
Daytime , Evening , Weekend
This role requires flexibility in terms of hours, depending on the events being planned. Expectation is around 5-10 hours per week, with potential spikes during major event preparations.
Participation in periodic meetings with the CEO or Manitoba COO and other team members is essential to ensure alignment with organizational goals. Constant engagement with the group WhatsApp group is encouraged. |
