| Description of Duties: | Duties/Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of staff, the volunteer may assist with tasks such as: •Welcome visitors to the Urgent Care and ask if they need to see a doctor. Ask them to sit in the reserved front row brown chairs and have their Manitoba Health card ready. Ask them to remove their jacket if they are wearing one because they will have their blood pressure taken at triage. •Remember to smile; a smile conveys warmth. •Report to Triage or Charge Nurse upon arrival and end of shift •At the beginning of your shift, approach each patient and visitor in the Urgent Care Waiting Area. •Introduce yourself as a volunteer. Ask if there is anything you can do to make them more comfortable. •Answer non-medical questions for patients and their family members. •Please approach and welcome each new patient and visitor when they enter the Urgent Care waiting Area. |
