| Volunteer Opportunity Details | |
| Description of Duties: | The ECC Facilitator Volunteer will provide a group of adult participants with educational assistance to improve their basic English conversation skills and build confidence. - English Conversation Circle VolunteerWork with newcomers to improve their English conversation skills - Identify participants' individual learning needs - Help participants develop confidence in speaking English - Ability to demonstrate study skills and techniques to the participants - Classroom management - Planning, preparing, and facilitating the conversation/session - Provide a nurturing, comfortable, and supportive learning environment that encourages conversation |
| Skills Required: | - Experience teaching English - Experience teaching adults English is an asset - Fluency in English - Experience working with adult newcomers and immigrant community is an asset - Outstanding personal and interpersonal communication skills - Ability to work with minimal supervision |
