| Volunteer Opportunity Details | |
| Description of Duties: | Community Nutrition Educators (CNEs) are trained volunteers who provide reliable, unbiased, and current information on healthy eating and food to the community. CNEs work with a variety of people and groups in all community areas of Winnipeg. Some examples of activities and topics include: Facilitate workshops on topics such as: healthy eating and food skills, grocery shopping, healthy relationships with food, and information about food systems. Conduct cooking demonstrations with a variety of recipes. |
| Skills Required: | -Basic knowledge and experience in food selection, preparation, and storage -Food Handlers Training Certification course is an asset, but not required -An ability to facilitate and share information. -Time to participate in training sessions -Skills in reading and speaking English. Ability to speak French is an asset. -Experience in community work, leadership or as a volunteer, is an asset |

| Time Commitment: | Daytime, Evening, Micro Volunteering Be available to attend 28+ hours of blended training offered in-person and virtual (dates pending September) Shifts are negotiated based on community requests, successful candidates must fulfill 3 requests per year, and commit to a minimum of one year. Shifts are typically 2 hours in length. |
