Organizational Description: The Dream Factory is a charitable organization dedicated to fulfilling dreams for kids who are battling life-threatening illnesses. We're unique because we're based in Manitoba - and all of the funds we raise stay in this province to help local children. Everything we do is focused on helping sick kids and their families.

The Dream Factory relies solely on the generous support of people and businesses. Since 1983, when we were founded as The Rainbow Society, we've created cherished memories for more than 500 families in Manitoba.
Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: The Volunteer Dream Granter will support the planning and delivery of Dreams come true for children in Manitoba battling life-threatening illnesses. Responsibilities will include:

Dream Administration - Includes connecting with Dream Families, scheduling meetings, maintaining records, ensuring all required documentation has been completed correctly. Also includes preparing Dream-related materials in-office and general office support as required.

Undertaking Dream Research - Examples include sourcing accommodations, flight options, specific items to be purchased, and helping to find solutions/add capacity to more complicated or time-consuming Dream requests.

Beyond Dreams Support - Assist in coordinating activities under our Beyond Dreams Program. Beyond Dreams includes all events, activities, and programs in-community outside of a child's big Dream. Examples include outings to sporting events, movies, art workshops, thoughtful gifts for treatments milestones, birthday packages, and so much more.

Skills Required: Reliable, friendly, with experience in providing customer service.

Computer skills/competency - including familiarity with MS Office Suite.

Strong communication skills, including good telephone and email etiquette.

The Dream Factory will cover the cost of a Police Record and Vulnerable Sector check.
Skills Gained/Related Careers: Experience working with a non-profit, community funded charity.
Age: 18-30, 31-54, 55+
Time Commitment: Daytime
Daytime availability required. Seeking a consistent commitment of 2 shifts per week, 3 hours per shift. Seeking a 6-month volunteer term commitment.
