Volunteer Opportunity Details | |
Description of Duties: | We currently have a strong engaged board with a range of experience and perspectives. We want to continue to grow as the centre continues to grow. Board members are expected to participate regularly in one board meeting per month and to sit on at least one board committee. There may also be work required occasionally between board meetings. The total time commitment averages between 5-10 hours per month. We strive to remove barriers to participation. This includes support for transportation, childcare, accessibility (including internet connection, for example, for online meetings) or other needs. |
Skills Required: | We are currently looking for board members (including women, nonbinary 2SLGBTQ+) with some experience in one or more of these areas: - Governance, - Human resources - Property management, housing In addition, we are looking for board members who bring lived experience to the table, and represent diverse perspectives. |
Skills Gained/Related Careers: | Gain skills, knowledge and experience in various areas of board service. Possibilities include finance, governance, perspectives on nonprofits serving community, and valuable connections to others in various service and professional fields. |
