Organizational Description: | We are a 262-bed acute care facility located in the west end of Winnipeg. Grace Hospital is an operating division of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and plays an integral role in the delivery of health care services in Winnipeg. We are one of three acute care sites in Winnipeg, along with Health Sciences Centre and St. Boniface Hospital, which means we have a full service Emergency Department, critical care and a full complement of acute care services. Volunteers have been the cornerstone of Grace Hospital since its inception more than 100 years ago. Volunteers contribute their unique talents, skills and knowledge to our facility and our community to provide personalized attention to our patients. This enables the employees to concentrate on the work for which they are trained and fosters good relationships between the hospital and the public which it serves. At Grace Hospital we have approximately 240 adult volunteers and 50 youth volunteers. Each year, these volunteers contributed over 30,000 hours of service. The selfless efforts of the Grace Hospital volunteers truly make Grace Hospital the warm, welcoming and caring environment it is. |
