Organizational Description: | The College has been the professional regulator for Registered Nurses (RNs) in Manitoba since 1913. Our mandate is to protect and serve the public interest. We establish and maintain a registration process that ensures RNs are qualified and competent. We set and maintain nursing practice standards for RNs. We approve nursing education programs, and we receive and investigate complaints about the nursing practice and conduct of RNs. |

Volunteer Opportunity Details | |
Description of Duties: | The College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba has the mandate to develop, establish and maintain standards of academic achievement and qualification required for registration and to monitor compliance with and enforce those standards. The Education Program Committee makes recommendations for the Council's consideration regarding matters pertaining to nursing education programs. The Committee is comprised of registered nurses and public representatives. It meets approximately 3 -4 times per year. All material for the meeting is provided and supported by a staff liaison. Meetings are anticipated to be primarily virtual, however may include some in-person meetings. |
Skills Required: | -Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills -Expertise in curriculum development or education -Serve a three-year term. -Attend meetings and participate in teleconferences/virtual meetings. -Possess reliable computer and internet access for virtual meetings. |

Time Commitment: | Daytime The Committee is comprised of registered nurses and public representatives. It meets approximately 3 -4 times per year. A stipend is offered for committee work. We reimburse rural and northern committee members for expenses when travel is required.%u202F |
