SHCC provides inclusive support and sexual assault crisis intervention to survivors and those affected by sexual violence through our SARAH program, acts as an education resource for schools through our SADI program, and engages community and service providers through our Reaching Out Program. |

| Volunteer Opportunity Details | |
| Description of Duties: | The Treasurer of the Board of Directors is a key player in the financial health of the non-profit organization, working in partnership with the Finance Clerk and Executive Director to oversee incoming and outgoing funds, preparing monthly financial statements and serves as an authorized signing authority for the agency. Duties include: -Communicate with Finance and Administration Clerk as needed -Oversee, and present budgets, accounts, management accounts and financial statements to the board of directors -Ensure that proper accounts and records are kept, ensuring financial resources are spent and invested in line with the agency's policies, good governance, legal and regulatory requirements -Act as a signatory on cheques and any applications for funds |
| Skills Required: | -A understanding of, and experience with, good financial management and reporting practices. -An appreciation of the kind and level of financial information needed at a board level to support decision making. -Living or working within the Eastern area of Manitoba (Selkirk - Pinawa) an asset. |
