| Organizational Description: | The Manitoba Burrowing Owl Recovery Program was established to address the ongoing decline of the species in Manitoba. The program works in southwestern communities of Manitoba to engage landowners in grassland conservation efforts that benefit burrowing owls and other grassland dependent species. The program has several field and educational activities including reintroduction of burrowing owl pairs and young, survey and monitoring or wild owls, pairs and nest, habitat improvement through the installation of artificial nest burrows, and education through school and community presentations. |

| Volunteer Opportunity Details | |
| Description of Duties: | The Manitoba Burrowing Owl Recovery Program (MBORP) is looking for an Fundraising volunteer to help with fundraising efforts. The MBORP is a non-profit conservation program working to recover the endangered burrowing owl species in Manitoba. The program runs solely on private and public funding and donations. This volunteer position's focus will be to seek grants and funding opportunities that fit with MBORP's goals. The volunteer would be responsible for learning about MBORP's programs and needs and catering grant writing and budgets for selected grants. |
| Skills Required: | A professional and friendly telephone manner. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work on own initiative. Grant writing, budget and previous fundraising experience. Able to work independently. |
