| Volunteer Opportunity Details | |
| Description of Duties: | Board Members are volunteers that provide essential oversight, guidance, and encouragement to Inspire's staff and volunteers as we strive to fulfill our Mission of service to Manitoba's most complex kids and families. |
| Skills Required: | Board Members come from diverse backgrounds. Priority will be given to applicants with fundraising experience! Required skills for all board members are strong written and spoken communication skills, computer literacy in Google drive and email, time management, and problem solving. Beyond these general skills, we are seeking individuals with skills and experience in business, financial management, fundraising, education, public policy, contract law, staff management, and/or other board experience. |
| Skills Gained/Related Careers: | Gain a deeper understanding of the charity and non-profit world, including grant seeking, reporting, and provincial and federal oversight requirements. Learn strong strategic planning and measurement skills using Key Performance Indicators and Balanced Scorecard approaches. Contribute to strong meetings with focused agenda and defined action items and next steps. |

| Time Commitment: | Evening Our Board meets on the second Monday evening of the month. Between meetings, board members stay in touch primarily through email and engagement with Google Drive files. Occasionally additional learning or planning days are scheduled for Board Members and Inspire management staff to allow our team to focus on organizational development. |
