| Organizational Description: | The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of the Province of Manitoba (APEGM) was established on March 27, 1920 by The Engineering and Geoscientific Professions Act to regulate the profession of engineering in Manitoba. In 1998 the Manitoba Legislature expanded the association's mandate to regulate professional geoscientists in Manitoba. In September 2015 the operating name of the association changed to Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba. The purposes of the association are to:Govern and regulate the practice of professional engineering and professional geoscience in Manitoba Promote and increase, by all lawful means and in the public interest, the knowledge, skill, and competency of its members and students in all things relating to the professions of engineering and geoscience Advocate where the public interest is at risk |

| Volunteer Opportunity Details | |
| Description of Duties: | The Audit Committee is a committee of the Association's Council, that assists Council in fulfilling its' external and direct inspection monitoring of the fiscal policy, by meeting with the external auditor to review the draft Audited Financial Statements and Audit Report and provides a report back to Council. |
| Skills Required: | Looking for an individual with a professional accounting designation, and who is preferably licensed from a regulatory organization (MBA or CPA designation). The individual should have previous experience in fiscal policies, accounting systems, auditing skills, and experience in non-profit or similar sized organization. |

| Time Commitment: | Daytime The position would be for a three year term, with three to four committee meetings annually. The meetings are held during the week, daytime, and are approximately 1 ½ hours long. |
