Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: The drop-in space of the North Point Douglas Women's Centre is a central hub for community members to visit together, have a coffee, receive basic and emergency needs, and access programming. Drop-in volunteers will help maintain a safe and clean space, as well as assist the drop-in team by packing and distributing emergency food and hygiene kits, and by sorting donations.
Skills Required: Ability to work with a diverse population
Knowledge of and willingness to learn indigenous teachings
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Non-violent crisis intervention training is an asset but not a requirement
Skills Gained/Related Careers:
Age: 18-30, 31-54
Time Commitment: Daytime, Weekend
