Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: -Is either a current member of the Board of Directors of Variety, the Children's Charity of Manitoba or would be prepared to become one by accepting the role.
-Is elected to the Community Engagement Committee Chair role annually by the Board at the Annual General meeting.
-Chairs quarterly meetings of the committee.
-Ensures that committee members have the information needed to do their jobs.
-Oversees the logistics of committee's operations.
-Provides written/oral reports to the board on committee's activities, discussions and recommendations at Board of Directors' meetings.
-Works closely with the Chief Executive Officer and other staff as agreed to by the CEO,
-Initiates and leads the committee's annual evaluation.

You have a skillset or community connections that will assist us in helping the community we support.
Skills Gained/Related Careers: -Understanding of non-profit/charitable organization and how they operate.
-Proven sales and marketing professional who Is still actively engaged in their industry.
-Proven leader.
-Amazing networking skills.

Time Commitment: Daytime, Evening, Weekend
-1 hour a month to organize and prepare for upcoming Board Meeting, -1.5 hours a month for Board Meeting, -1 hour a quarter to attend select committee meeting, -Committee work as required, -Attend Variety events such as Gold Heart Gala
