Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: Jessie Home Inc. is currently seeking a volunteer Secretary/Treasurer to join its Board of Directors.

The Secretary/Treasurer reviews the financial information managed by the Executive Director and bookkeeper, including the accounting of receipts and disbursements, to ensure accuracy and completeness. They assist with the preparation of the annual budget and review financial processes, making recommendations for improvement. They are responsible to the Board of Directors for financial reports and present a financial report at monthly board meetings, prepared with the bookkeeper's assistance.

As well, the Secretary/Treasurer acts as one of the signatories for the organization and shall sign legal documents for the organization as required.

Additionally, the Secretary/Treasurer of the Jessie Home Inc. Board of Directors will review the annual audited financial statements and accompanying documents, attend the auditor's presentation, and present the financial statements at the Annual General Meeting.



Time commitment -- Participate in monthly Board of Directors meetings (usually 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm on either the third Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday) -- Review of monthly financials -- Attend the Annual General Meeting -- Represent the organization, as required. Time commitment is typically 4-6 hours per month, more during annual audit/budget and less in the summer as no July/August board meetings.
