Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: You Can't Spoil A Baby needs volunteers to deliver baby gifts to families in need and also to pick up donations of baby items and deliver them to our volunteers.

The Delivery Coordinator position is easy and was designed so that busy, charitable people like yourself can participate in a great volunteer experience. You'll join our confidential Facebook group which helps our team access information, streamline communication and collaborate to help Manitoba families in need, and when you see a shift that suits your schedule, you respond to the posting and make your plan to pick up or drop off baby items or a gift.

All you need is transportation, one to two hours per month and the desire to make a difference in your community. Good organizational and communication skills, empathy and integrity, along with a willingness to learn and use our technology tools like social media, email, and gift tracking software are assets.

The YCSAB team and our online volunteer training manual are here to help walk you through learning this role as we strive to make volunteering a great experience for you and our team.

Most of our gift applicants and volunteers are from Winnipeg and surrounding areas, but as YCSAB grows, there may be more rural opportunities. We accept volunteers from across Manitoba.

-Access to a vehicle to deliver baby gifts.
-Willing to learn our basic technology tools i.e. YCSAB email, gift tracking system.
-Respectful of sensitive personal information.
-Friendly, compassionate and nonjudgmental.
-Trustworthy and dependable.
-Patience: it can be challenging contacting gift applicants who have unreliable contact info.
-If dropping off to new parents, understanding and compassionate of the fact that having a baby is a vulnerable time.

Age: 17 and under, 18-30, 31-54, 55+
Time Commitment:
1-2 hours a month, or more if desired. As a Delivery Coordinator volunteer, you will set your own schedules, and can easily change your availability with a quick email. Gift delivery and donation pick up can occur anytime that suits both you, the volunteer you are picking up from and/or the family receiving the baby gift.
