Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: The Winnipeg International Children's Festival is a charitable organization dedicated to providing outstanding performances, circus arts and interactive activities that are educational, inspiring and accessible to children and families from diverse communities. Through our Flagship KidsFest, our social circus programming and other community performances we are dedicated to creating an inclusive safe environment for inspiration, learning and fun for all children and families.

WICF is seeking passionate folks committed to an inclusive arts community and helping WICF into their next phases of growth and development. We are currently accepting applications for volunteer board members of all skills and experiences to contribute their interests, talents and expertise to our small, dynamic organization.

Skills Required: As part of their commitment to the organization, ideal candidates will possess the following accountabilities:
-Ability to attend regular board meetings/committee meetings and remain with the organization for a minimum of a two-year term
-Interest and skill in contributing to the organization in areas such as: program development, fundraising, governance and policy development and the implementation of a diversity, equity and inclusion policy for the organization.
-Interest and passion for our programming which includes engagement and participation in our Flagship KidsFest which takes place annually in June.
-Willingness to research and develop fundraising, sponsorship and partnership opportunities as determined at the board level for the ongoing development and growth of WICF and its programming.
-Submission of a current, clear Criminal Record Check (including vulnerable sector search) and Child Abuse Registry Check.
Skills Gained/Related Careers: Volunteer Board Members gain experience in program development, fundraising, governance and policy development and the implementation of a diversity, equity and inclusion policy for the organization
