| Organizational Description: | Our mission statement is to empower, provide support, advocacy and guidance to women who are involved in the criminal justice system. We provide services for women who are incarcerated as well as in the community at our location on Selkirk Ave. Volunteers facilitate a variety of programs, perform office maintenance duties, tutor participants in our literacy program, assist with stocking our clothing depot and participate as members of our board. |

| Volunteer Opportunity Details | |
| Description of Duties: | 1. Working alongside the Program and Volunteer Coordinator (PVC) to arrange fundraising events. 2. Will be responsible for planning and executing 1-2 large fundraising events in the span of 12 months, as well as 1-2 smaller scale fundraisers. 3. Work within the fundraising budget. 4. Create an annual fundraising plan. 5. Create fundraising goals for the organization. 6. Establish connections with potential funders. 7. Will work alongside the PVC to hire volunteers and form a Fundraising Committee. 8. Will raise awareness of upcoming events. |
| Skills Required: | 1. Leadership skills, must be able to coordinate a team. 2. Ability to meet deadlines. 3. Self-motivated. 4. Strong organizational skills. 5. Some social media skills. 6. Awareness of Indigenous Culture and understanding of the community would be an asset. 7. Familiarity with the criminal justice system. |
| Skills Gained/Related Careers: | 1. 1-2 years' experience event planning. 2. 1-2 years' fundraising within the non-profits. |

| Time Commitment: | Daytime, Evening Regular office hours are 9:00-4:00, Monday to Friday. Must be able to work some evenings or weekends. |
