| Organizational Description: | Regenesis Centre for Recovery (RCR) is a startup not-for-profit organization in Winnipeg currently fundraising toward opening a new addictions recovery centre. RCR's mission is to acknowledge the role of oppression based on identity and its effect on addiction and mental health. By increasing accessibility of trauma-informed care through evidence-based practice, we aim to cater our program to those who have historically been underserved in these areas of healthcare. Our mandate is to cultivate a life-long relationship of positive support and community involvement with each of our clients. |

| Volunteer Opportunity Details | |
| Description of Duties: | Attending approximately 1-3 monthly meetings (some via zoom) to work as part of a lively team in developing an up-and-coming nonprofit focusing on a new approach to addictions recovery. Fundraising will be a large part of the role, and each board member can join the sub-committees for which they feel passionate. |
| Skills Required: | Who you are: A member of one or more of the following communities: - The 2SLGBTQ+ community - The BIPOC community - The disabled community - Someone who has personally lived with addiction, has/had a loved one who lives/lived with addiction, works in the addictions & mental health field or has significant relevant experience - Women or non-binary/GNC individuals - Any other community considered to be a visible minority - Passionate about improving the lives of people living with addiction regardless of their background - Excited to be part of an up and coming nonprofit organization - Someone with excellent communication skills and enjoys working as part of a team - Someone who has an understanding of intersectionality and addictions %u2800 - Someone who has an understanding about Indigenous traditions and the history of colonialism of Turtle Island These are some qualities we're looking for: Community-first thinkers Experienced grant application writers Social media savants Savvy fundraisers Organized beings Dependable souls |
