Organizational Description: We are a young association focussed the growth and development for mountain biking in Manitoba. Our mission states that the MMBA champions the establishment of new trails within Manitoba; designed for the mountain bike community, used by all communities. It facilitates the building and maintenance of these trails by partnering landowners with builders. It creates a succession plan by educating the next generation on how to build trails and the importance of advocacy and trail promotion.
Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: Here at the MMBA we are at a point where fundraising is a major component to our future. We are looking for someone excited about mountain biking that is ready to take initiative with developing and leading fundraising opportunities. Use your creative side and be your own boss as you work with our board members to raise money for bike park development!
Skills Required: No official skills required. However, a passion for mountain biking and some previous fundraising experience would be considered an asset. A creative mind and drive to work on your own is essential.
Skills Gained/Related Careers: What you put in is what you get! We have two board members who have worked as fundraising coordinators in the past but they are wrapped up with other positions. We have no problem helping train someone new to the position or handing the keys to an experienced veteran.
Age: 18-30, 31-54, 55+
Time Commitment:
Varying time commitments. During fundraising events time commitments may be larger than a regular basis. On a regular basis time commitments may vary from 0-3 hours a week. There are monthly board meetings on teams.
