Organizational Description: JA Manitoba offers six business education programs, delivered at no cost to elementary, middle and high school students (grades 3 - 12). More than 150 schools throughout Manitoba participate in JA every year. Delivered by local volunteers, JA programs enable young people to develop essential life skills through exposure to interactive activities and innovative business solutions.

Description of Duties: As a Company Program Advisor, you will help guide a student company to success with your knowledge, support, experiences, and encouragement. You will familiarize the students with business basics that will allow them to run their very own company, and develop a set of valuable skills along the way.
   
Skills Required: Volunteers for Junior Achievement must be comfortable speaking to a larger audience, enjoy working with youth, and have the time to commit to some pre-lesson planning though detailed information is sent weekly. Volunteers who conduct the after school Company Program will be required to agree to a Police Records Check and Child Abuse Registry check.
   
Skills Gained/Related Careers: You will benefit from making an impact on ambitious young people and inspiring those in search of positive mentors. The opportunity to share your expertise with up and coming business leaders, and to network with other volunteers within the program will make your experience with Junior Achievement a fulfilling one.

The Responsibility
Attend your student company's meetings approximately once a week from November - April in the evening.

Other noteworthy Advisor activities:
Advisor Training- one 90 minute session in November
The Meeting of the Minds - (TBA) event to launch the program scheduled for early November
Mall Trade Shows - (TBD) two select Saturdays arranged for the students to sell their products/services
End of the Year Awards Ceremony- celebrating student's achievements at the end of the program
   
Age: 18-30, 31-54, 55+
Time Commitment:
Evening

3 hours per week, starting November 2023 through April 2024.
No meetings during 2 week Christmas break, 1 week January exam break, and Spring Break in March.
Either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, from 6:30-9pm
