Description of Duties: F.A.C.E.S. (Foster a Child to Excel in Society) Inc. is a not-for-profit organization located in Montreal, Quebec. F.A.C.E.S. is devoted to helping vulnerable teens and young adults achieve self-sufficiency and avoid many of the pitfalls for which they are at risk. Our mission is to inspire and empower these youth to make informed choices to improve their lives through educational, informative, and hands-on programs.

F.A.C.E.S. is looking for three members seeking a remote volunteer opportunity in a dynamic not-for-profit organization dedicated to youth empowerment. This volunteer opportunity requires great communication and writing skills. If you are passionate about writing grants based on the organization's priorities, identifying funding sources, cultivating donors, and submitting grant proposals, then this volunteer role might be for you!

Grant Writer
Unpaid Volunteer Position, 3 Members Needed

A Grant Writer creates compelling, effective, and well-written grant proposals, supporting the mission of F.A.C.E.S. in ensuring the success and funding of our programs that empower each youth participant through mentoring and a wide network of support. This position directly reports to the Volunteer Coordinator or the Manager.

We welcome people of all ages and abilities, and are specifically looking for talented people with the following expertise:

Grant Writer Duties Include:
-Searching potential funding organizations and identifying possible grant opportunities
-Working with the grant team to complete assigned tasks within the deadlines
-Writing effective grant proposals and ensuring error-free grant submission
-Maintaining grant database for future reference purposes
-Building a positive relationship with existing and potential funding sources
-Strong people skills, excellent organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
Skills Required: The ideal candidate will possess the following:
-Background in creative writing or related field is an asset
-Grant writing experience is an asset
-Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources is an asset
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
-Excellent communication skills in French and English, both verbal and written
