Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: It is the purpose of the Board of Directors to care for seniors needing social housing and to provide comfortable, safe and secure housing for them in independent living conditions offering a range of low to middle rental rates.

For each meeting the manager provides a package of documents, reports and financial statements which Directors are required to read before the meeting. At the meetings Directors are expected to receive the reports from the Manager discuss them and make motions to approve, amend or not accept them. Directors are expected to think about the needs of the tenants and the welfare of the corporation and make creative suggestions for improvement.
Skills Required: The kind of people we need on the board are common sense men and women who care about the welfare of others, especially seniors, and who see themselves as helping to provide housing for seniors who need that service.

Our properties are held in non-profit corporations so it is an asset to have Directors who have had experience with non-profit organizations.
