Acquisition Committee Member

Variety, the Children's Charity of Manitoba is looking for volunteers who would like to join our new Acquisition Committee.

Variety's Acquisition Committee is responsible for contacting partners, donors and prospects via email or sometimes by phone (you can decide) to request prize donations and other in-kind items for Variety's auctions and other ongoing campaigns.

Tasks include:
- Sending out via Variety's internal email, letters to organizations to ask for donations
- Keeping track of prospects and donors into a shared spreadsheet
- Emailing and responding to donors in regards to their donations
- Tracking your own volunteered hours
- Working with Variety's Volunteer Coordinator to meet deadlines

- Must have high attention for detail
- Must have excellent knowledge of the English language
- Highly self-motivated and self-directed individual as this position requires you to work from home when you have time
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and be able to handle sensitive information
- Must be able to represent Variety in a professional manner
- Good computer skills including Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook,)
- Superior English written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to meet deadlines
- Experience in sales a definite asset

Start Date: Immediately - Ongoing
Hours per week: 1-3 hours
