Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: Our program is focused on reinforcing a sense of safety in Saint Boniface and allowing citizens to engage to that end through a supported organization.

While traditionally we have focused on public engagement during foot patrols it has become clear that social media is essential in our mission.

We are seeking a volunteer who can focus primarily on social media engagement. This will involve:
- generating content in parallel with our group activities
- scheduling 3-6 social media posts per week (can be done in advance)
- creating an internal report of community perception of safety based on messages, comments and community groups that can be used by volunteers to understand the needs of the community
Skills Required: Must be comfortable using a computer and internet and be familiar with the Facebook platform

Ideally candidates are aspiring to, or already have experience with social media marketing. It will be essential that posts are politically neutral and that engagement with the public is non-judgmental.
Skills Gained/Related Careers: Volunteers who work with this program will receive (upon request) a formal attestation of their work performed. In this case we would provide a reference letter reflecting the work performed and the candidate would be welcome to use the social media feed of our group in their portfolio.
Age: 18-30, 31-54, 55+
Time Commitment: Daytime, Evening, Weekend
This role would not have specific required hours, only weekly deliverables. Based on the platform, posts can be created and scheduled well in advance, based on their own schedule and can be done from home.
