Description of Duties: | MISSION & EXPECTATIONS Our mission at KIDS Initiative is to focus on helping to facilitate sustainable solutions in developing countries to enrich the lives of children. We can only focus on doing so when our team on the ground are driven, passionate, and innovative. Skills Required: | The role of the Event Planning & Fund Development Committee Director is to develop fund development programs such as major gifts, tribute, bequests, etc., and to host the KIDS Initiative annual event, recruit and help coordinate 3rd party events supporting the organization, building on fundraising campaigns. - Oversee and manage all fundraising efforts to build annual revenue and sponsor support - Ensure that the fundraising programs offered by the organization contribute to its mission and reflect the priorities of the board - In partnership with the organization's teams, plan and execute the operational plans for all philanthropic revenue streams, ensuring integration and coordination of the programs to leverage donor engagement and fundraising results - Maintain and upgrade the annual fundraising plan which includes all pertinent aspects of: Major Donors, Grants and Events & Campaigns - Develop and structure a plan for growing major gifts/ donors and bequest programs - Lead the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift prospects, including individuals and foundations, and strategic partnerships with corporations and other organizations - In conjunction with the Donor & Volunteer Management and Stewardship committee lead, be one of the primary staff persons responsible for the major gift program and a portfolio of donors and prospects - Build relationships and work closely with board members and key volunteers, in order to develop, solicit and steward major gift prospects and donors, and to build their linkages with the organization - Develop and structure a plan for in memoriam, tribute, birthday, anniversary, and holidays style donations with card recognition - Develop a 3rd party fundraising platform, to include supporting materials/documents, promotion of fundraiser and management - Develop a strategy with the Marketing & Communications committee around how to capitalize on the Giving Tuesday Campaign - In consultation and collaboration with program leads, lead the development of cases for support to build awareness of philanthropic opportunities for our programs, equipment, and operational needs - Manage and execute on KIDS Initiative's event Pairing Pints. Expand on event ticket sales and gain support with prize donations. Develop innovative ideas to keep events fresh and exciting - Monitor day-to-day delivery through each committee to ensure goals are met and budgets respected - Coordinate regular team meetings (i.e., weekly, biweekly, monthly, or as otherwise determined by lead) to manage and gauge progress of all committee members - Monthly report to the board on all committee actions and goals |
Skills Gained/Related Careers: | QUALIFICATIONS & KEY COMPETENCIES: - Experience developing and executing a diversified annual fundraising program. - Donor recruitment, retention, and relations experience in order to maintain philanthropic support from individuals, corporations, and foundations. - Event and/or project management experience. - Social media, marketing, and communication skills an asset. - Experience leading a team of volunteers and understanding how to utilize everyone's skills to create a cohesive and nurturing team environment in order to achieve the desired organizational objectives. - Organizational and time management skills to ensure tasks are being identified and achieved in a timely manner. |
