Organizational Description: A Valour Community Center Program and volunteer run community bike shop serving the Daniel McIntyre St. Matthews Community and the city of Winnipeg since 2009. We recycle and refurbish bicycles and teach participants how to fix their bikes.
Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: Shop hands are a vital part of a community bike shop. We think of them as mechanics in training and friends of the shop. They assist with the regular maintenance and organization of the shop - crucial to providing effective service to the community. During Volunteer Shop, you will take direction from mechanics and the program coordinator to:
1. sort bicycle parts
2. Sort and patch tubes
3. Dismantle wheels, fix wheels
4. Strip bikes for their usable parts
5. Clean and tidy

Age: 17 and under, 18-30, 31-54, 55+
Time Commitment: Daytime, Evening, Weekend
Must attend a volunteer orientation on Tuesday, June 23rd. Volunteer shop scheduled weekly, but no commitment necessary. Come when you want!
