Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: Respond to and track requests from the community to organize events in support of Harvest
Lead will work out of Harvest as well as various locations in Winnipeg
Liaise with the Warehouse and Volunteer Services Department when necessary
Lead the Street Crew at public events where food and monetary donations are being collected
Track items and materials used at each event, ensuring the correct number of coin cans, food bins, tables, chairs, etc. are returned to Harvest
Track and report volunteer attendance, sometimes calling volunteers who may be absent or running late
Ensure volunteers are cared for at the event site; ie. Have water, bathroom breaks, etc.
Engage with the public to increase visibility and awareness of Harvest
Monitor donation containers to ensure all food and money donations remain secure
Assist in transporting food donations and loading the Harvest vehicle at event sites
Track total donations of food, time and money.
Skills Required: Positive and outgoing attitude
Undergo a Criminal Record check (if required)
Experience planning and managing events
Experience coordinating teams
Reliable, must be able to arrive at event site on time
Must be available evenings and weekends
Ability to stand for long periods, walk and lift up to 25 lbs

Volunteers in this role must be responsible for their own travel throughout the city of Winnipeg including costs associated with transit and parking.
Trustworthy and responsible, must be able to handle valuable items and cash - able to provide a reference who can attest to this
