Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: Do you want to make a difference? Join the world's largest humanitarian network - the Canadian Red Cross Society: a non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to helping Canadians and the most vulnerable throughout the world. We are seeking People Services volunteers to join our Mobilization Team to support our unified workforce of employees and volunteers. You'll support day-to-day operations and mobilize personnel during our disaster response period of April to September - our busiest period of emergency response.

Our Mobilization Team provides exceptional service to volunteers and employees responding to emergencies by assigning them to short term-assignments, both locally and across Canada. As a member of our Mobilization team, you'll use your attention to detail to follow established processes to identify, schedule and deploy personnel to meet workforce priorities and provide an exceptional mobilization experience for our dedicated personnel.

During active response, the work is fast paced and demanding, with quickly changing requirements. Our successful volunteers thrive under pressure, can manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and are highly collaborative. In times of active emergency response, flexible working hours and the ability to handle short deadlines is required.

Passion for humanitarian work

Superior time management skills, diligence in process execution and personal organization skills to manage multiple priorities and communications

Professionalism, personal accountability, and exceptional interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a team and establish and manage productive internal and external relationships

Strong verbal and written communications skills in English and/or French.Fluency in French is highly desirable

Strong administrative skills and experience

Computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite and database skills are required
