Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: Box Office:
Sell festival passes, exchange vouchers for wristbands and provide Festival program information. Cash handling experience is preferred and good people skills are essential. Electronic debit and credit card systems are also used.

Help children use clay, paint, glue, paper, glitter, and other materials in creating a variety of fun take-home projects. Maintain tidy workspaces and manage use of materials to ensure supplies last throughout the Festival.

Pick up litter, keeping the Festival site free of garbage, clean and beautiful.

Supervise and engage children in play with simple interactive games such as beanbag/ring toss, balance beam, etc.

General Store:
The Festival store sells colourful, child-friendly, fun merchandise. The majority of items are priced between $0.25 and $5.00. Patience, attentiveness, and an ability to do accurate mental math are essential. Cash handling experience is helpful.

House Ushers:
For fire and safety reasons, strollers and wagons are not permitted inside performer tents and must be parked in designated areas outside the tents. Good people skills and a firm but friendly manner are needed to ensure Festival goers park strollers and wagons and find seating in the tents. Ushers must also keep tent entranceways and fire lanes clear inside the tents, and pick up any litter between the shows.

Information Services:
Provide information and distribute Festival programs and maps at information stations on the Festival grounds. A helpful, friendly demeanor is imperative and volunteers must familiarize themselves with the layout of the Festival site and the daily performance and activity schedules.

Roaming Performer:
Dress up and interact with festival goers, costumes provided.

They are curious, generous people who are always looking for opportunities to help out and share their talents. And volunteering is a great way to gain workplace experience for your resume!

Our volunteer have many perks besides the great feeling of helping kids and gaining workplace experience:
~Volunteers are gifted with a Kidsfest 2020 access pass for every day of the festival
~We will supply light snacks in the volunteer tent. (meals are your responsibility)
~All volunteers are eligible to enter a volunteer prize draw.
~You get a Kidsfest 2020 Volunteer t-shirt and lanyard to wear while volunteering

Daytime, Weekend Available Shifts: Thursday, June 4th: 9:00am - 3:30pm (opening day of Festival) Friday, June 5th: 9:00am - 4:00pm Saturday, June 6th: 9:30am - 5:30pm Sunday, June 7th: 9:30am - 5:30pm (final day of festival) Event Location: The Forks Festival Field
