Organizational Description: CPFP Central Park Foot Patrol Inc. is a non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors in the community of Central Park, by providing programs, services, and opportunities for social interaction that contribute to the overall well-being and a sense of community to all.
Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: CPFP Central Park Foot Patrol Inc. is seeking new members to join our dynamic Board of Directors for 2020. Ideally, prospective Board Members would submit their interest for nomination prior to our Annual General Meeting, which will take place on March 16, 2020. Nominations will be accepted after that date too. Current Vacancies to be filled:
*Secretary
*Treasurer
*Directors at Large

Our Board is composed of professionals, community leaders and people with lived experience. Board Members are expected to attend monthly meetings of the Board, usually on Monday. Board members are expected to manage the business of the corporation, and might be assigned tasks between Board Meetings, individually or in Committee, based on the capabilities of each individual.
Board Members must be committed to community development and community-led safety, and understand the Central Park community strengths and challenges.

The Mission of CPFP is to enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors in the community by providing programs, services, and opportunities for social interaction that contribute to the overall well-being and a sense of community to all.
Skills Required: *Must be available evenings
*Strong commitment to improving the Central Park area, from an asset-based, harm reduction, and community development lens (required)
*Understanding of strengths and challenges of the Central Park Neighbourhood (required)
*Experience in non-profit organization, whether at the Board or staffing level (preferred)
*Some experience in one/more of the following: fundraising, volunteer coordination, web development, marketing, bookkeeping (preferred)
*Understanding of Board Governance (preferred)
*We welcome members with lived experience

Time Commitment: Evening, Weekend
Board Meetings: 6-7:30/8 PM, first Monday of every month, except stat holidays Some occasional weekend attendance in support of special events
