Organizational Description: Main Street Project is a not for profit organization that provides a safe, respectful, accessible place for individuals at risk in the community. We have an emergency shelter, a drop-in centre, a detox unit and a transitional housing space for our patrons. We advocate for a more inclusive society and assist marginalized individuals to make real choices.
Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: Providing staff with administrative support that may include but not be limited to:
- Connecting with past holiday donors
- inputting donation, inventory, and/or volunteer information into appropriate systems
Skills Required: - Must possess good organizational skills, good interpersonal skills, and maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Strong computer skills including data entry, excel, word
- Previous expereince in an office setting is preferred but not necessary
- Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
Skills Gained/Related Careers: - Donor relations
- Fundraising experiencing
- Administrative skills
Age: 18-30, 31-54, 55+
Time Commitment: Daytime
1 shift per week. Day, time, and duration is flexible.
