Description of Duties: Newcomer Services-Youth Wellness Program Support Volunteer

At the Y, we are committed to fostering the growth and development of people not just in body - but in mind and spirit as well. Connecting to a new community can be difficult at any age. Our Newcomer Youth Wellness Program helps youth aged 12-21 connect with others in the community while increasing their knowledge and skills around mental, physical and social health.

We are looking for experienced volunteers who want to give back to the community by helping our participants grow in a supportive environment.

How you will help!

Assist in program delivery
Build strong relationships with participants
Facilitate positive individual and group interaction
Prepare program space
Skills Required: Are you the right fit?

Experience working with youth
Caring, compassionate, patient and understanding
Experience facilitating programs in a classroom environment
Able to support individuals from diverse backgrounds and those
impacted by traumatic life events
Skills Gained/Related Careers:
Age: 18-30, 31-54, 55+
Time Commitment: Daytime, Evening, Weekend
