Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: Work flexible training shift including Saturdays; depending on shift signed up for
Receive and appropriately transfer inbound calls
Answer questions related to food bank appointments (location, date, time)
Page and make announcement in a clear and positive manner
Make food bank appointments for Team members and walk-in clients
Confirm with the CREW managers about upcoming events for the day or week
Greet visitors respectfully and be pleasant courteous when interacting with the public
Operate the copier/fax machine at CREW member request
Prepare mail out correspondence
Maintain a neat workspace
Perform other tasks assigned by the Administration Associate
Attend weekly employment coaching workshops
Participate in ongoing training evaluations by the employment and training staff
Contribute to healthy team environment through feedback and identifying gaps
Skills Required: Work independently performing a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment
Provide high-quality service to the public while maintaining a patient, positive attitude
Enjoy working with children, youth, adults, seniors, newcomers, LGBTTQQ+ individuals, individuals with disabilities, and other diverse audiences
Have effective interpersonal communication (languages other than English a bonus)
Multi-task and take initiative
Work independently and cooperatively within a team
Must have basic computer skills (example: turn computer on, what a browser is and what icons are)
Problem solve when faced with challenges
Lift up to 25 lbs to help process donations
Skills Gained/Related Careers: customer service; office environment; administration;
Age: 18-30, 31-54, 55+
Time Commitment: Daytime
Shifts are either 8am-12pm or 12pm to 4pm Monday to Friday. Must commit to completing one or more shifts per week. Position is permanent and unpaid.
