Organizational Description: Canada Sierra Leone Friendship Society Inc. is working on both International Humanitarian compassionate to relieve poverty by providing basic necessities of life, including food, clean water, clothing, and/or shelter to individuals and families in need; To relieve poverty and advance education in Sierra Sierra Leone by providing vocational training for individuals in need; To advance education in Sierra Leone by providing books, equipment, and educational aids to students in need; To promote health in Sierra Leone by providing basic medical care and training to individuals in need; and To undertake activities ancillary and incidental to the attainment of aforementioned charitable purposes.
Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: The Canada Sierra Leone Friendship Society Inc. members are: *Looking for Secretary that will be in the executive committee, attending meetings, taking records minutes of board.
* Willing to travel both National and International, United State and Sierra Leone for the purpose of the Humanitarian relieve in Sierra Leone.
*Distributes copies of minutes to board and members prior to the next scheduled electronic and non-electronic mail at least once weekly.
*Responds to Canada Sierra Leone Friendship Society Inc. and Canada Revenue inquiries on the phone line in a timely manner, may consult with the appropriate director or member as required.
*Carries out correspondence as appropriate.
*Prepares and presents a report at the Annual Meeting.
Secures current membership master list and inventory of capital assets approved by the Treasurer.
*Establishes and maintains good relationships with other CSLFS Inc. at all times in order to meet our culturally needs.
Able to communicate with the organization short term and long term Donors.
Skills Required: *Student in international development studies.
*Knowledge in impact on vulnerability and poverty.
* Understanding Sustainability Development goals and Climate Change Action
Skills Gained/Related Careers: Working commitment and able to travel with the CEO, CRA Auditors, and other members of the Canada Sierra Leone Friendship Society Inc.
Age: 18-30, 31-54, 55+
Time Commitment: Daytime, Evening, Weekend
Willing to travel as Humanitarian reliving poverty reduction Secretary in Sierra Leone, maybe every six months spend some time depends the reasons of visiting the site.
